Dense Non - Rigid Motion Estimation

چکیده
We describe a new method for computing the displacement vector eld in time sequences of 3D images (4D data). The method is an energy-minimizing method; the energy is split into two terms, with one term matching diierential singularities in the images, and the other constraining the regularity of the eld. In order to reduce the computational time, we introduce an adaptive volume mesh the resolution of which depends on the presence of high gradient. We next perform a modal analysis, which allows a compact representation of the deformation by a reduced number of parameters. We present experimental results on synthetic data and on medical images.

Dense Motion Estimation for Smoke
Motion estimation for highly dynamic phenomena such as smoke is an open challenge for Computer Vision. Traditional dense motion estimation algorithms have difficulties with non-rigid and large motions, both of which are frequently observed in smoke motion. We propose an algorithm for dense motion estimation of smoke. Our algorithm is robust, fast, and has better performance over different types...
متن کاملFacial feature tracking combining model-based and model-free method
In this paper we propose a novel facial feature tracker, which integrates model-free and model-based method to reliably track dense facial features with complex non-rigid motions in low quality video sequence. The tracker consists the mouth motion model part and the enhanced KLT tracker part. There are three key elements in our algorithms: dense facial feature tracking, noise removal with globa...
متن کاملA Globally Optimal Approach for 3D Elastic Motion Estimation from Stereo Sequences
Dense and markerless elastic 3D motion estimation based on stereo sequences is a challenge in computer vision. Solutions based on scene flow and 3D registration are mostly restricted to simple non-rigid motions, and suffer from the error accumulation. To address this problem, this paper proposes a globally optimal approach to non-rigid motion estimation which simultaneously recovers the 3D surf...
متن کاملVariational Dense Motion Estimation Using the Helmholtz Decomposition
We present a novel variational approach to dense motion estimation of highly non-rigid structures in image sequences. Our representation of the motion vector field is based on the extended Helmholtz Decomposition into its principal constituents: The laminar flow and two potential functions related to the solenoidal and irrotational flow, respectively. The potential functions, which are of prima...
متن کاملSequential Bayesian Non-Rigid Structure from Motion
This thesis1 addresses the problem of recovering simultaneously camera motion and the 3D reconstruction of deformable objects from monocular video. We propose several methods to solve this problem in a sequential fashion, frame-by-frame estimation, as the data arrives. Deformable structures appear constantly in our everyday life, from human non-rigid motion (e.g., a smiling face or performing d...
متن کاملDense non-rigid structure-from-motion made easy - A spatial-temporal smoothness based solution
This paper proposes a simple spatial-temporal smoothness based method for solving dense non-rigid structure-frommotion (NRSfM). First, we revisit the temporal smoothness and demonstrate that it can be extended to dense case directly. Second, we propose to exploit the spatial smoothness by resorting to the Laplacian of the 3D non-rigid shape. Third, to handle real world noise and outliers in mea...
